Preserving Family Recipes & Building an Inclusive Family Tree

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Event Details

Family can be defined by more than parents and children - families can be made up of friends and neighbors, too! This month, Local History & Genealogy would like to help you learn how to preserve your favorite family recipes and learn of a different type of family tree - a Family Food Tree!

This event will also be the kickoff for you to help us create the Central Library Family Cookbook! Participants that wish to take part should submit 1 to 2 favorite family recipes during June and July to the attention of Kate Kisselstein. Along with the recipe, you should include 2 to 3 sentences about who/where it came from & why it's a favorite. Each family will receive a free copy of the resulting cookbook in September (this will coincide with National Hunger Awareness Month).

This is a hybrid event being held simultaneously in the CNY Meeting Room on the 3rd floor of Central Library and online via Zoom. Please register Online to receive the Zoom link and participant handouts.
